David L. Monroy

David L. Monroy, is an attorney practicing in the areas of Business and Real estate. He handles small and large transactional and litigation matters. He comes to the firm with over 20 years of successful litigation experience. As of January, 2009, David serves as "Of Counsel" to the Firm offering over 22 years of experience as a former partner with a top-ranked Hawaii law firm. David's practice in litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and transaction work has included:

•    Creditor's remedies, including commercial and residential foreclosures, receiverships, loan workouts, bankruptcy, lien priority, compliance, collections, and lender liability claims;
•    Commercial, real property, tort and construction litigation, including representation of contractors and owners in mechanic lien claims;
•    Corporate law, including strategy, structure and compliance for domestic and international holding companies and related corporate entities, LLCs, partnerships, and non-profit organizations;
•    Real estate matters, including the purchase and sale of shopping centers, hotels, and commercial properties, commercial lease documentation, boundary and title disputes, partition actions, landlord/tenant and summary possession litigation
•    Trust and probate litigation; employment discrimination litigation
•    Defense of state regulated industries claim, including defense of real estate agents and brokers

David's clients have included:
Hawaii's largest bank, First Hawaiian Bank, and its parent, Bancwest Corporation, City Bank, American Savings Bank, Seattle Funding Group, PNC Mortgage of America (later known as Washington Mutual Home Loans, Inc.), Kiewit Corporation as well as non-institutional and private lenders, corporations, developers, borrowers, real estate agents, and buyers.
